Sometimes I wonder if it would be easier to do things by myself around the house, like say make the cookies that Marc and Anderson are making right now. Here's how it is going down:
Marc (while reading the recipe): Should I half this recipe--1 lb. of butter seems like a lot.
Me: Yes--I usually half that recipe.
Then Marc nearly puts a whole pound of butter in for half the recipe, but catches his mistake. For a math genius, that was surprising.
Marc: Do we have brown sugar?
Me: Yes, it's on one of the bottom two shelves in the pantry.
Marc: Are these chocolate chips miniature? (He holds up an opened bag of chocolate chips that is closed with a twisty tie)
Me: I don't know. What does the bag say?
Marc: It says semi-sweet.
Me: (silence)
Marc: Oh, yah. These are miniature. (He then pulls out another bag of semi sweet chocolate chips that is almost gone.) I'll use these, they're almost gone.
Me: That recipe calls for semi sweet and milk chocolate. You should use both.
Marc: Should I pack the brown sugar?
Marc: How do you half a recipe that calls for 3 eggs.
Me: Put in 2.
Marc: Which attachment should I use?
Marc: What speed is appropriate for creaming?
About half way through this conversation I put my hands on my face, asked him if he'd rather I make the cookies and told him I was about to go crazy and it might be easier to do it myself. Then he politely asked if I would give him a warning before I go crazy. Oh dear. Delegation is difficult for me. I literally cannot watch him clean the bathrooms!

HAHAHA!!! I love this! Totally sounds like my house and I agree, sometimes it's just easier to do the job yourself. :) But I am impressed he attempted making a homemade treat!
Man, I am craving cookie dough...NOW.
