Tradition, Tradition

I love traditions. Love them. love them. love them. I love traditions because they give me something to look forward to when holidays or other special occasions roll around. Over the last six years, Marc and I have created great traditions for Christmas and a few for some other holidays, but Easter has always been a little lacking perhaps because I've been out of town for the last few since Carter was born and prior to that it was just no big deal. But, now that we have kids I really want to do some things to make Easter memorable. If you have a fun Easter tradition please share and help my family find some that we can look forward to.

On a more serious note...We set our yearly goals on Easter instead of New Years. It seems like more of a "fresh start" time of year to me.

Fun stuff...Easter was HUGE at our house. First, My parents would hide eggs outside. Some eggs were filled with candy, some with money, and some with little pieces of paper. So, we would go on our hunt and have a great time, then come inside and open all our eggs. Some of the papers had inspirational thoughts that we would then discuss. Others had something like the following written: "Misty, go look in the microwave," or "Curtis, go look in the black box in mom and dad's closet. We would go look and would find a fun gift hidden there. Each child had a few gifts hidden around the house and the papers in the eggs told us where to find them. We would always try to sneakily (sp?) find our gifts before the hunt. I think Easter was always my favorite holiday growing up.

There are also some good ideas in the Feb Ensign.

Good luck!

Great ideas, Misty. I'm not very good in the creative department. It seems like we're always doing just the basics when it comes to holidays, so I would love some new ideas too!
