My Good News

My friend Tina introduced me to the make up line Benefit about 3 years ago when we first moved to Northridge and I've been a fan ever since. I bought the award winning Dandelion powder with some Christmas money a few years back. Then I got the Georgia palette a few months later. When I ran out of my Clinique foundation stick and discovered it had been discontinued, I turned to Benefit for an alternative. After Anderson was born, I bought the line's new Dallas powder and a fabulously dramatic but also subdued brown shadow. Macy's carried the brand and Macy's was a 5 minute drive from our apartment. Then we found out we were moving. First we thought it was to Utah and not a single place in Utah carries the line so I was bummed. When we found out we were actually relocating here to Colorado, I again searched for the closest Benefit counter. The news wasn't terrible, it was in Denver only an hour away. Well, tonight Marc gave me some excellent news. As he glanced over my Christmas Wish List, he saw my make up wishes and mentioned he was pretty certain he'd seen a Benefit counter at the nearby free standing JCPenneys (that means it's not attached to a mall, just a store by itself.) a few days ago. I didn't really believe him because JCPenneys is not high end like Macy's and Nordstrom. We were on our way out anyway, so we dropped in for a peek. Sure enough, there it was right as we walked in the front door. I perused the counter, checking out a new powder they have (I'm totally adding that to my make up wishes!), making sure they had the eye pencil I want. I'm so excited, the news has made my whole week brighter. Did I mention the store is less than a mile from my house?!? Girls, if you're into make up check out their website--www.benefitcosmetics.com. If for nothing else, their powders and bronzers are a fantastic pick me up during these no sun times in snow country. Happy shopping!

Better than Clinique? I was thinking of getting some new makeup if I got any Christmas money. I don't wear that much and haven't bought any in--ready for this?--since I was pregnant with Spencer 5 years ago. Maybe I'll give Benefit a try. Thanks for the tip!

I'm a MAC girl and they don't sell it in the entire county I live in. Can you believe that? I have to go all the way to SLC or Utah County to get some. But it's worth it to me. I hope you're enjoying your stuff!
